Heavy Automatics began in 1990 when diesel mechanics and mates Ron Neville and Claude Dalese started the business from a small shared shed in Adelaide. Their goal was simple: faster turnaround times, quality workmanship and better Allison Transmission support.
As the company’s reputation grew, the right people joined the team and added new knowledge and capabilities.
Around 2008–2009, Allison Transmission recognised the company’s outstanding product support and approached Heavy Automatics to become an Australian distributor. This defining moment helped the business expand nationally and develop closer relationships with vehicle manufacturers and major OEMs.
In 2016, Heavy Hydraulics was created, adding specialist hydraulic products, system design, installation and service.
Today, the group operates from five locations across Australia. Our strength remains our people, practical experience and hands-on approach. We provide complete transmission and hydraulic solutions backed by national support, local knowledge and a commitment to service, service, service.
